My Dear Parishioners,

The US Bishops have instituted a multi-year Eucharistic Revival. I took the following from the Eucharistic Revival website. Jesus is Calling Us Deeper

HE PROMISES TO RESTORE AND RENEW HIS PEOPLE

Our world is hurting. We all need healing, yet many of us are separated from the very source of our strength. Jesus Christ invites us to return to the source and summit of our faith in the celebration of the Eucharist. The National Eucharistic Revival is a movement to restore understanding and devotion to this great mystery here in the United States by helping us renew our worship of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist.

As part of the Parish call to ongoing Eucharistic Revival we are pleased to offer a 4-Part video series from the Augustine Institute called Presence: The Mystery of the Eucharist. It is a great opportunity to renew and revive what we understand about this most precious gift that God offers us. It will be on 4 consecutive Tuesdays, starting on September 19 thru October 10th in the St. Joseph Church Lower Hall. The time for these sessions will be 6:30 p.m. This time was chosen so that parents who are dropping off their children for CCD would be able to attend. The dates for the sessions were specifically chosen because they are immediately prior to our parish celebration of 40 Hours, a special time that we set aside to honor and worship Jesus present to us in the Most Blessed Sacrament. I invite you to consider renewing and reviving your understanding and appreciation of the Eucharist. Please call the rectory to register 215-672-3020.

We are preparing to offer the RCIA or Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults once again this year. This is the special program where those who are interested in becoming Catholic, whether they have never been baptized or were raised in another faith, can learn more about our faith and receive the sacraments to become a Catholic. As a reminder, we are all catechists, in that we should join together in passing on the faith. If you know someone who is considering joining the Catholic Faith, or someone who simply needs to be asked, now is the time. We are holding our special Night of Inquiry on Wednesday, September 20th at 7:00 p.m. in classroom 18. Anyone interested in finding out more about the faith is invited to join us. Please call the rectory if interested, 215-672-3020. No commitment is necessary at this time; it is just an evening to find out what is involved. Also we are in real need of adults who are interested in our faith and willing to become members of our Team. We are looking for adults who can facilitate and lead a dialogue about the faith. You don’t need to be a professional speaker or teacher, but just someone who is in love with our faith and willing to share that with others. Many times, the leaders tell me that they receive just as much from the work as the candidates and catechumens. Please contact me if interested.

God Bless you,
Fr. Bordonaro
