My Dear Parishioners,
Congratulations to our St. Joseph/St. Robert student thespians! Last Saturday they put on a production of the Wizard of Oz, Jr. at Archbishop Wood High School and they did an amazing job! Over 650 people were in attendance. Many of our children were involved from Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade in making and arranging the sets, producing the professional style Playbill, acting, singing, dancing and more. Mrs. Lauren Kulp, parent of a second grader and owner of Bravo dance studio was the director, our art teacher, Mrs. Branchide, made many of the props and set pieces, Mrs. Durkin our early childhood teacher was the munchkin wrangler. They put on such an entertaining, enjoyable, and funny show; I loved every minute of it. Our principal, Mrs. Jaster continues to say that we are having our best year ever because first we were selected as one of The Intelligencer’s 2018 Best private schools in Bucks county. Then we were named as a 2018 National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. Now our young people have put on such a terrific performance, it feels like we are on a roll. We certainly have a lot to be proud of at SJR.
The Christmas Bazaar was a great success; thank you to all our vendors and volunteers. A special thank you goes to Mrs. Rita Roley, and her fantastic team of helpers. They planned and executed a great event for the parish. A job well done!
In the midst of all the hustle and preparations it is important that we take time to acknowledge the benefits and gifts God has blessed us with; I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for the sacrifices you have made on behalf of your parish throughout the year. I am very grateful for your continued emotional, spiritual, and financial support. Your generosity inspires us all. I also want to repeat my thank you to all of our parish volunteers and remind you to pick up a special token of appreciation in classroom 18 starting next week. You can choose from a number of previous items, or this year we are offering the same mug from last year. You can have a matched set by picking up another one. It is a custom mug with an imprint of our parish church.
The schedule for the remaining days of Advent is as follows: Our Parish Penance opportunity will be this Thursday Dec. 13th at 7:00 p.m. Additional priests will be on hand to hear confessions. Remember, there will be no actual penance service, but rather confessions will start being heard at 7:00 p.m. In addition, confessions are offered on Saturday Dec. 22nd from 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. and later that same evening from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The best opportunity will be December 13th with several additional confessors.
I know I mentioned this last week but it needs to be mentioned again. I am talking about parking in the near lot and leaving large open gaps in the middle. I ask your assistance once again with this issue especially during the Christmas Masses. When parking in the lot closest to the Church, please pull all the way up to the preceding car. If everyone parks in an end spot, we prevent others from getting a space. Also some of our guests may not be familiar with our parking routines and so I ask your help and patience in keeping it as orderly as possible.
God Bless you,
