My Dear Parishioners,
This week we will welcome Fr. Tariq Issac to speak to us about the Missions in the Archdiocese of Lahore, Pakistan. Father is currently stationed at St. William parish in Philadelphia. He is speaking to us about the situation in the Archdiocese of Lahore. The second collection this week will benefit that Archdiocese through the Pontifical Mission Society. If you were not prepared to make a donation this week, you can drop the Mission envelope in the regular collection next week, or at the rectory and we will forward the donation to the Pontifical Mission Society. Thank you for your generous support.
As summer comes to a close, we start to think of going back to school and CCD classes. I hope that you and your family have enjoyed a restful and relaxing summer vacation. We look forward to seeing our young people in the classrooms again. If you are interested in helping out with our CCD program, please contact Mrs. Cathy Cain. We are always in need of volunteer catechists, assistants, and hall monitors. I have also noticed that our scrip sales after Mass have significantly declined. It is not because people have stopped shopping, it is because we are sorely lacking the volunteers to staff the scrip sales table after the various Masses. If you can help with these sales, please contact SJR school, Mrs. Jackie Bucklemann, or leave your information with the rectory.
Now is also the time to think about adults who might be interested in learning more about our faith. If you know someone who you think might be interested, please have them give me a call. The RCIA or Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is a program offered by the church to instruct those that are not of our faith. In addition, we have combined these classes with those who may have been baptized in the Catholic faith, but never completed their catechesis. We are always looking for new team members willing to share their faith and walk with others on their journey. If you can help us, please contact me.
God Bless you,
