My Dear Parishioners,
Three weeks ago I told you what a great success our Manna Food Drive was. Our July donations totaled 2,355 pounds. While the volunteers at The Coordinating Council of Health and Welfare were very appreciative of all your generosity, I think it is important that you know that many others are appreciative as well. Someone who worships with us on a regular basis makes frequent use of this particular food cupboard. She approached me and asked if there was any way I could communicate her thanks to our parish. I asked her to write a letter and I would publish it in our bulletin. Here is her letter.
Thank you ~ I am a parishioner who receives help from my Church! I know many people who receive the help that you give, food. We go to the Coordinated Council Food Bank once a month. Thanks to the charity of my church we are able to receive things like butter, eggs, laundry detergent and even diapers for infants. We all have different reasons why we receive food. Some families can barely make ends meet and just need to feed their children. Some families are of elderly people on a fixed income who don’t have enough food to eat at home. Some families have recently lost a parent and do not have an income to stay afloat. I am a family of five and my husband works very hard but does not bring in enough income to have a roof over our heads and go grocery shopping. When I lost my job because of an injury, I was terrified of how we were going to be able to afford to just keep our head above the poverty line and not become homeless. When I’m not able to go to the food bank because I cannot find a ride, I can ask my church directly for help. My children do not go to bed hungry any longer. It is because of the wonderfully charitable hearts of my parishioners. I want each and every one of you to know how thankful we are for your giving! I also need to say thank you to the volunteers at the Coordinated Council food bank. They make us feel very comfortable and are extremely helpful to all who enter their doors! The food that you donate makes the lives of others so much better! With The Lord’s Help, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!
If you, or anyone you know, need help with food, contact The Coordinating Council of Health and Welfare, Inc. Their food cupboard is located at 75 Downey Drive, Warminster, PA on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. The CCHW is a group of volunteers whose purpose is to give emergency help to needy families in the area of Bucks and Montgomery Counties surrounding Warminster. This aid includes food, help with prescriptions, and other special needs. The Council is supported by donations from area churches, service organizations, businesses and individuals.
God Bless you,
