My Dear Parishioners,
In a previous column I told you what a great success our Manna Food Drive was. Our July donations totaled 2,430 pounds which is 75 pounds over last year’s donation, and that was reported to be a record for the Coordinating Council of Health and Welfare for 2017. No word if we still hold the record. Thank you for your generosity.
Warrington Township will soon be starting work on the sewer pipe from the entrance to our Lower Hall to Easton Road in order to alleviate the drainage issues during rain. This is in preparation for Columbia Avenue (the access road to our parking lot) being repaved sometime in mid-September. I am working with a contractor to get our parking lot closest to the church and front driveway and walkways repaved before Columbia Avenue gets repaved. When this work does begin, it should not take more than 3 or 4 days. When it does start, we will have to adjust how and where we park for daily Mass. I apologize for any inconvenience. We will also be removing some of the yellow bollards and moving our trash dumpsters so as to allow access from the church lot through the back lot to Valley Road for the Saturday Vigil and Sunday Masses. This access will be closed off during the week with a heavy duty chain marked with reflective signs. We do not want people using it as a shortcut, especially while our school building is being rented out. In case you were wondering, NHS – the company that rents the first floor of our school building as a school for autistic children has changed its name. It is now known as Merakey.
The North Wales Water Authority will be coming on to the back lot to make some upgrades to the water meter pit, install an additional pit, and lay more pipe. They need to increase their capacity in order to better address the water needs of the community. Once that work is completed we will move to repave the back lot and then the lot around the school building as well. Thank you for your continuing support of our Capital Improvement fund. Your generosity to this collection is what allows us to make much needed improvements to our parking lots.
God Bless you.
